Proposal for Visualizing Urban Sound/Audio (Interactive Installation)

Task
To create an interactive installation art

Research Topic
Visualizing urban sound/audio
By using the sounds human create in the FCM Café and broadcasting it in a new environment which we have defined the area below the K-Space on the ground floor of FCM building. We would like to express the emotion of being comfortable.

Target Audience
18 and above (Adults)

Problem Identification
FCM Café should be a space for students and other art fans to share and talk while having a drink or their food. But unfortunately you can’t enjoy your stay more or less than half of an hour, especially during the lunch time.

Aim and Objectives
To create a new environment from the same sound being heard in FCM Café for students and other art fans to experience
To get to the level of creative thinking

Motivation
Lack of comfortable zone
Experiencing this new environment

Ideation and concept
Sounds created by people inside the café would be projected in a new environment, which we have defined the location, the ground floor of FCM, below the K-Space.
A projector which is being detected by a webcam will be broadcasting the live recording of FCM Café. A transition will be applied to the video before broadcasting.
The environment will be designed with comfortable materials.

Review, Analysis and Precedence Studies
"Body paint" by Mehmet Akten is an interactive installation - a visual instrument - allowing users to paint on a virtual canvas with their body, interpreting movement, gestures and dance into evolving compositions. It's purpose is not to create a new interface for creating static paintings, but more a natural way of creating, directing and performing moving images in realtime, with focus on the interaction experience.

First attempt at predator thermo vision

The slough of images that were born during the sleep - faces and figures - dissolving.
